Simple git client for R based on 'libgit2' https://libgit2.org with support for SSH and HTTPS remotes. All functions in 'gert' use basic R data types (such as vectors and data-frames) for their arguments and return values. User credentials are shared with command line 'git' through the git-credential store and ssh keys stored on disk or ssh-agent.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from r-lib/gert. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-gert

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
