An integrated R interface to several United States Census Bureau APIs (https://www.census.gov/data/developers/data-sets.html) and the US Census Bureau's geographic boundary files. Allows R users to return Census and ACS data as tidyverse-ready data frames, and optionally returns a list-column with feature geometry for mapping and spatial analysis.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from walkerke/tidycensus. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.
