Companion package to García-Portugués and Meilán-Vila (2025) doi:10.1080/01621459.2025.2521898 and García-Portugués and Meilán-Vila (2023) doi:10.1007/978-3-031-32729-2_4.

Unrandomize the tests in tests_bwd.R, tests_distr.R, tests_grad_hess.R, tests_kde.R, tests_samplers.R, and tests_tests.R to avoid spurious failures on some platforms.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
