Interface to India Meteorological Department (IMD) gridded daily rainfall (0.25 degree, 1901-present) and temperature (1.0 degree, 1951-present) binary data. Provides functions to download, read, extract by point or boundary, compute climate indices, perform trend analysis, and produce publication-quality maps with Survey of India approved boundaries.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from Subhradip25/imdR. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-imdR

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
