Facilitates dynamic exploration of text collections through an intuitive graphical user interface and the power of regular expressions. The package contains 1) a helper function to convert a data frame to a 'corporaexplorerobject' and 2) a 'Shiny' app for fast and flexible exploration of a 'corporaexplorerobject'. The package also includes demo apps with which one can explore Jane Austen's novels and the State of the Union Addresses (data from the 'janeaustenr' and 'sotu' packages respectively).

Changes in 0.9.0

Breaking changes

New arguments (and new order of arguments) in prepare_data():

text_column: Any character column can be specified as as the column containing the main textual data (not only 'Text' as before). Thanks to @discoleo for suggestion (#31).

Changes in reserved column names (see ?prepare_data for details).

In particular, Year is now allowed.

Other changes

Non-date-based corpora can now contain column called 'Date'.
Introduced nicer display of searches with (exactly) two search terms (feebc552, feebc552e4, 325aeb3b).

Future removal

Added warning that the 'run_document_extractor()' app will be removed in a future version of corporaexplorer.

Bug fix:

Fixed filtering by dates (8c1a175b)

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
