Provides an 'R' interface to the 'NiftyReg' image registration tools https://github.com/KCL-BMEIS/niftyreg. Linear and nonlinear registration are supported, in two and three dimensions.

Changes in 2.8.6

Rcpp::stop(), rather than Rf_error(), is now used to signal errors within the C++ interface codebase, to ensure correct stack unwinding. (Reported by Iñaki Ucar.)
An attempt at a workaround for a GCC-ASAN (16.1.1) issue has been made, although it may well result from a bug in GCC (cf. https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=125187). (Reported by BDR.)

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
