Encapsulates functions to streamline calls from R to the REDCap API. REDCap (Research Electronic Data CAPture) is a web application for building and managing online surveys and databases developed at Vanderbilt University. The Application Programming Interface (API) offers an avenue to access and modify data programmatically, improving the capacity for literate and reproducible programming.

Changes in 1.7.0

New Features

New redcap_instrument_repeating() function exports repeating instrument-event mappings for a project (#585 & #589, @ezraporter).
redcap_event_instruments(), redcap_event_read(), redcap_instruments(), redcap_project_info_read(), redcap_read(), redcap_read_oneshot()and redcap_variable() accept a delimiter, to accommodate server instances in locales that use something other than a comma. The delimiter is passed to readr::read_delim() (#570, @mrkskk).

Minor Enhancements

New columns returned from the server to redcap_project_info_read() no longer throw a warning (#587).
redcap_file_repo_list_oneshot() function tests for the new dag and role columns (#593).
redcap_write() now accommodates single-column data.frames. Previously only single-column tibbles were accommodated (@brandonerose, #591 & #592).
Update urls for REDCap Community (#596).
Simplified token files for other people to test with (#594).
New test project that includes both longitudinal events, and repeated measures (#606, needed to test #589).
Update deprecated parameters for `base::structure (#605).
validate_for_write() now accommodates projects with a custom name for record_id (#601, #602, @vanbibn).

Follows new rules from the goodpractice package released in the past year (#610).
New example demonstrates removing non-existing record_id values before passing to redcap_delete() (#567).

Bug fixes

When writing to the server, a numeric value like "10000" will not be converted to scientific notation (#599, #600, @Olawemi5).

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.
