Contains functions for identifying and correcting HGNC human gene symbols and MGI mouse gene symbols which have been converted to date format by Excel, withdrawn, or aliased. Also contains functions for reversibly converting between HGNC symbols and valid R names.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from waldronlab/HGNChelper. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
