Provides functions to simulate data sets from hierarchical ecological models, including all the simulations described in the two volume publication 'Applied Hierarchical Modeling in Ecology: Analysis of distribution, abundance and species richness in R and BUGS' by Marc Kéry and Andy Royle: volume 1 (2016, ISBN: 978-0-12-801378-6) and volume 2 (2021, ISBN: 978-0-12-809585-0), https://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/pubanalysis/keryroylebook/. It also has all the utility functions and data sets needed to replicate the analyses shown in the books.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from ecoverseR/AHMbook. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
