Plotting Field Plans for Agricultural Experiments
Overview
A function for plotting maps of agricultural field experiments that are laid out in grids. See Ryder (1981) doi:10.1017/S0014479700011601.
ticksnow accepts"all"(a break at every integer coordinate) or alist(x=, y=)for explicit per-axis breaks, in bothdesplot()andggdesplot().TRUE/FALSEbehave as before. (P.Schmidt)- New argument
panel.border(defaultTRUE) toggles the panel border and axis lines, in bothdesplot()andggdesplot(). SetFALSEfor a cleaner field map. (P.Schmidt) ggdesplot()now leaves cells with a missing value empty, asdesplot()does. Previously they were filled with the ggplot2 default grey, which lies inside the range of the default red-gray-blue scale and so looked like a mid-range value. (P.Schmidt)ggdesplot()no longer draws a spuriousno_colorlegend whentextornumis used withoutcol. (P.Schmidt)ggdesplot()now facets on every conditioning variable in a formula such asyield ~ col*row | site + rep. Previously only the first was used and the others were silently dropped, overplotting cells. (P.Schmidt)ggdesplot()namedcol.regionsandcol.textnow fall back to positional matching (as the warning states) when some factor levels are unnamed, instead of leaving cells uncolored. (P.Schmidt)ggdesplot()now positionsnum/textlabels correctly when the formula has no left-hand side (no fill variable, e.g.~ col*row | block). Previously the labels on the outer cells were clipped at the panel border because, without a filled tile, the half-cell extent was never established. (P.Schmidt)- Switch to MIT license.
- Documentation pages now created via Github Actions.
- Fix the checking for multiple cell values when there are 2 panel factors.
- New support for
aspectwithggdesplot(). (P.Schmidt) - New support for named colors (P.Schmidt).

- Deprecated syntax
desplot(formula,data). Usedesplot(data, formula)instead.
