The 'Wordle' game. Players have six attempts to guess a five-letter word. After each guess, the player is informed which letters in their guess are either: anywhere in the word; in the right position in the word. This can be used to inform the next guess. Can be played interactively in the console, or programmatically. Based on Josh Wardle's game <https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/>.

Install

install.packages("wordler")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

pak::pak("DavidASmith/wordler")

Development version from DavidASmith/wordler. Requires the pak package.

Release

# one-time r2u setup for Ubuntu (noble)

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/eddelbuettel/r2u/master/inst/scripts/add_cranapt_noble.sh | sudo bash

# then install

sudo apt install r-cran-wordler

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). Run the setup once per machine.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf copr enable iucar/cran

sudo dnf install R-CRAN-wordler

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

sudo zypper install R-wordler

RPMs auto-built from CRAN on openSUSE OBS.
