Implements the truncated harmonic mean estimator (THAMES) of the reciprocal marginal likelihood for uni- and multivariate mixture models using posterior samples and unnormalized log posterior values via reciprocal importance sampling. Metodiev, Irons, Perrot-Dockès, Latouche & Raftery (2025) doi:10.48550/arXiv.2504.21812.

This is a patch. In this version I have removed the following bugs:

a ** instead of a * was used in the calculation of the confidence intervals, and the uncertainty due to the Monte Carlo sample had to be added as well.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
