Message translation is often managed with 'po' files and the 'gettext' programme, but sometimes another solution is needed. In contrast to 'po' files, a more flexible approach is used as in the Fluent https://projectfluent.org/ project with R Markdown snippets. The key-value approach allows easier handling of the translated messages.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from sigbertklinke/stranslate. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-stranslate

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
