Markov chain Monte Carlo samplers for posterior simulations of conjugate Bayesian nonparametric mixture models. Functionality is provided for Gibbs sampling as in Algorithm 3 of Neal (2000) DOI:10.1080/10618600.2000.10474879, restricted Gibbs merge-split sampling as described in Jain & Neal (2004) DOI:10.1198/1061860043001, and sequentially-allocated merge-split sampling DOI:10.1080/00949655.2021.1998502, as well as summary and utility functions.

Install

install.packages("sams", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-sams

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
