A dependency-light 'OpenTimelineIO' (OTIO) https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/OpenTimelineIO document layer in pure R. Provides constructors for the OTIO object model (timelines, tracks, clips, gaps, media references, rational times and time ranges), functional builders that return new objects, and readers and writers for canonical '.otio' files through 'jsonlite'. The optional 'RcppOTIO' package validates output against the real 'OpenTimelineIO' C++ library. No compiled code.

constructors for the OTIO object model, functional builders, the OTIO edit

algorithms, schema upgrade/downgrade, and canonical .otio / OTIOD bundle

IO through jsonlite. The optional RcppOTIO package (cornball-ai drat

repository) validates output against the OpenTimelineIO C++ library.

Relicensed from MIT to Apache License 2.0 to match upstream OpenTimelineIO.
CRAN pre-submission pass: single-quote 'OpenTimelineIO' and add its URL in DESCRIPTION, add URL/BugReports, fix the maintainer email, and declare Additional_repositories (cornball-ai drat) so the suggested RcppOTIO oracle is installable.
Every exported function now documents its return value and ships a small runnable example.

Drop the local %||% definition in favour of base R's (new floor: R >= 4.4.0).
Test harness redirects the R user cache/data/config dirs to tempfiles.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.
