Provides tools for creating, manipulating and reading Research Object Crates (RO-Crates), a lightweight approach to packaging research data with structured metadata. Includes utilities for metadata generation, entity management, validation and reading existing RO-Crates following the specification https://w3id.org/ro/crate/1.2/.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from ResearchObject/ro-crate-r. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-rocrateR

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
