Parse scientific names using 'gnparser' (https://github.com/gnames/gnparser), written in Go. 'gnparser' parses scientific names into their component parts; it utilizes a Parsing Expression Grammar specifically for scientific names.

DEFUNCT

install_gnparser() has been deprecated to stay in compliance with CRAN policies ("Packages should not write in the user’s home filespace, nor anywhere else on the file system apart from the R session’s temporary directory")

BUG FIX

A bug was fixed where the ignore_tags argument was not respected (#31)

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
