Render scenes using pathtracing. Build 3D scenes out of spheres, cubes, planes, disks, triangles, cones, curves, line segments, cylinders, ellipsoids, and 3D models in the 'Wavefront' OBJ file format or the PLY Polygon File Format. Supports several material types, textures, multicore rendering, and tone-mapping. Based on the "Ray Tracing in One Weekend" book series. Peter Shirley (2018) https://raytracing.github.io.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-rayrender

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
