Convert digital images to spatially referenced 'SpatRaster' objects, as defined by the 'terra' package, using coordinates from supported spatial input classes. Supported inputs include numeric coordinate vectors and objects from the 'sf', 'terra' and 'stars' packages. The main function is an S3 generic, allowing other packages to extend support to additional spatial classes.

Changes in 1.0.0

asp_ratio() now reports the supported input types when x is invalid.
rasterpic_img() now reports clearer inclusive-range errors when halign or valign are not single numeric values.
rasterpic_img() now reports clearer input errors for missing image files and unsupported file extensions, preserves download failure details, warns when geographic coordinates are treated as planar and emits a warning condition for images with fewer than three layers.
rasterpic_img() now reports clearer errors when numeric bounding boxes contain missing, infinite or incorrectly ordered coordinates.
rasterpic_img() now validates img, expand, crop, mask, inverse and crs before processing.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
