Extension of the functionality of the 'Matrix' package for using sparse matrices. Some of the functions are very general, while other are highly specific for special data format as used for quantitative language comparison.

changes

adding support for ngrams for n > 2 in splitStrings. this opens up the possibility to use larger ngrams in sim.strings, sim.lang and sim.wordlist
splitStrings now only gives ngrams as output, not unigrams and bigrams as before
adding global options "qlcMatrix.gap" and "qlcMatrix.locale" for package defaults that might in some special cases be changed by a user.

bugs

more cleanup of unnecessary nMatrix to dMatrix conversions

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
