Methods for fitting point processes with parameters of generalised additive model (GAM) form are provided. For an introduction to point processes see Cox, D.R & Isham, V. (Point Processes, 1980, CRC Press), GAMs see Wood, S.N. (2017) doi:10.1201/9781315370279, and the fitting approach see Wood, S.N., Pya, N. & Safken, B. (2016) doi:10.1080/01621459.2016.1180986.

Install

R (CRAN)Ubuntu (r2u)Fedora (COPR)openSUSE (OBS)

install.packages("ppgam", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

sudo apt install -y r-cran-ppgam

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

# enable the iucar/cran COPR if it is not already present, then install
ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-ppgam

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
