This is an implementation of model-based trees with global model parameters (PALM trees). The PALM tree algorithm is an extension to the MOB algorithm (implemented in the 'partykit' package), where some parameters are fixed across all groups. Details about the method can be found in Seibold, Hothorn, Zeileis (2016) arXiv:1612.07498. The package offers coef(), logLik(), plot(), and predict() functions for PALM trees.

Install

BiocManager::install("palmtree")

Installs the current Bioconductor release. Requires the BiocManager package.

install.packages("palmtree", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
