Allows users to simulate matrix population models with particular characteristics based on aspects of life history such as mortality trajectories and fertility trajectories. Also allows the exploration of sampling error due to small sample size.

Changes in 3.3.0

Fixed typo in calculate_errors(): the mat_U_error element in the returned list was incorrectly named ,mat_U_error when type = "sem", causing NULL to be returned on access.
Fixed broken vectorisation in driven_vital_rate(): conditions length(slope > 1) and length(error_sd > 1) were always evaluating to TRUE regardless of input, preventing correct handling of matrix inputs.
Fixed wrong parameter row indices in rand_leslie_set() for the Siler mortality model (b_0 and b_1 were drawn from the same ranges as a_0 and a_1) and for multi-parameter fecundity models (logistic, vonBertalanffy, normal, hadwiger), where all parameters were incorrectly drawn from the first row of fecundity_params.
Removed orphaned expression in internal function add_mpm_error_indiv() that had no effect.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
