Designed to enable simultaneous substitution in strings in a safe fashion. Safe means it does not rely on placeholders (which can cause errors in same length matches).

Changes in 2.0.0

Rewrote key functions in C to provide significant performance boost (4-5x speedup in certain tests)
get_matches and filter_overlap are the primary performance enhancers
get_matches_base and filter_overlap_base retain the original base R functionality in case of issues with building the code
Changed maintainer email address because current one was bouncing CRAN emails

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
