Provides functions for grid square codes in Japan (https://www.stat.go.jp/english/data/mesh/index.html). Generates the grid square codes from longitude/latitude, geometries, and the grid square codes of different scales, and vice versa.

Changes in 0.4.0

Add grid_neighborhood() and deprecate grid_neighbor().
grid_neighborhood() has type argument to specify the type of neighborhood and by default type = "von_neumann".
Add grid_components() to get the connected components of grid square codes.
Rename grid_city to grid_city_2020.
Delete deprecated functions.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
