The hotspots package is designed to look within a set of measured values of a variable and identify values that are disproportionately high based on both the deviance of any given value from a statistical distribution and its similarity to other values. Because this relative magnitude of each value is taken into account, a value that is a statistical outlier may not always be a hot spot if other values are similarly large.

Install

install.packages("hotspots", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-hotspots

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
