A 'ggplot2' extension providing an integrative framework for composable visualization, enabling the creation of complex multi-plot layouts such as insets, circular arrangements, and multi-panel compositions. Built on the grammar of graphics, it offers tools to align, stack, and nest plots, simplifying the construction of richly annotated figures for high-dimensional data contexts—such as genomics, transcriptomics, and microbiome studies—by making it easy to link related plots, overlay clustering results, or highlight shared patterns.

Changes in 1.2.0

Fixed alignment of absolute panel dimensions when using theme(panel.widths, panel.heights) in ggplot2 v4.0.0.
'alignpatch-*' scripts have been fully refactored with S7 classes, with more informative and consistent naming.
Improved align_plots() to properly handle strips with different placements.
Renamed the original alignpatch() to patch() for clearer and more consistent naming.
The Patch object is now exported for external use.
Refactored patch_titles to the new S7-based patch_title class (soft-deprecated the old version).
Renamed the original patch() to as_grob() for clearer.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
