Four fertility models are fitted using non-linear least squares. These are the Hadwiger, the Gamma, the Model1 and Model2, following the terminology of the following paper: Peristera P. and Kostaki A. (2007). "Modeling fertility in modern populations". Demographic Research, 16(6): 141--194. doi:10.4054/DemRes.2007.16.6. Model based averaging is also supported.

Install

install.packages("fertilmodel", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-fertilmodel

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
