Figures, data sets and examples from the book "A practical guide to ecological modelling - using R as a simulation platform" by Karline Soetaert and Peter MJ Herman (2009). Springer. All figures from chapter x can be generated by "demo(chapx)", where x = 1 to 11. The R-scripts of the model examples discussed in the book are in subdirectory "examples", ordered per chapter. Solutions to model projects are in the same subdirectories.

Install

install.packages("ecolMod", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-ecolMod

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
