An R interface to United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Compliance History Online ('ECHO') Application Program Interface (API). 'ECHO' provides information about EPA permitted facilities, discharges, and other reporting info associated with permitted entities. Data are obtained from https://echo.epa.gov/.

echoNNCRGetReport(), echoNNCRGetViolations(), echoNNCRGetSearch() for searching NPDES Noncompliance Reports.

Bug Fixes

Update examples in echoWaterGetFacilityInfo(). The allowable values for p_pcomp were changed by EPA resulting in zero values returned. (fixes #94)

Minor Changes

There is no longer an (unknown) upper limit on the values returned when requesting an sf dataframe. Previously, ECHO returned "clusters" instead of records when a large number of records were requested. ECHO no provides a different endpoint to request clusters. This package does not currently provide a function to access the clusters endpoint.

Regression

various _getFacilityInfo() functions no longer return valid query results when query sets would return >100,000 records. This is a change in the ECHO server. You will now receive a message to modify the query to return fewer results. (fixes #93)

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.
