This is an open-source implementation of the Congruent Matching Profile Segments (CMPS) method (Chen et al. 2019)doi:10.1016/j.forsciint.2019.109964. In general, it can be used for objective comparison of striated tool marks, and in our examples, we specifically use it for bullet signatures comparisons. The CMPS score is expected to be large if two signatures are similar. So it can also be considered as a feature that measures the similarity of two bullet signatures.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
