Citation File Format ('CFF') version 1.2.0 doi:10.5281/zenodo.5171937 is a human- and machine-readable file format for software citation metadata. Core utilities generate, read, write and validate Citation File Format metadata for 'R' packages.

Changes in 1.4.2

The JOSS paper is now linked as an external **pkgdown** article instead of being rebuilt as a package vignette.
**cli** messages now use more precise semantic markup, pluralization and public-facing error contexts.
cff_gha_update() now uses path when updating .Rbuildignore.
cff_read_bib_text() now rejects vectors that mix BibTeX entries with .bib file paths.
cff_write() now formats the inst/CITATION update message correctly.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
