Self-organizing maps (also known as SOM, see Kohonen (2001) doi:10.1007/978-3-642-56927-2) are a method for dimensionality reduction and clustering of continuous data. This package introduces interactive (html) graphics for easier analysis of SOM results. It also features an interactive interface, for push-button training and visualization of SOM on numeric, categorical or mixed data, as well as tools to evaluate the quality of SOM.

Install

install.packages("aweSOM", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-aweSOM

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
