Implementation of an iterative process that optimizes a function by alternately performing restricted optimization over parameter subsets. Instead of solving one joint optimization problem, alternating optimization breaks it into smaller sub-problems. This approach can make optimization feasible when joint optimization is too difficult.

Changes in 1.2.3

Added value estimate_split to the output, which is estimate split by target (only when applicable).
Set the default value for the number of iterations within each block to 10.
Removed renv.
Improved documentation.
Added tests for invalid inputs and random partition determinism.

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
