Estimates the proportion of treatment effect on a censored primary outcome that is explained by the treatment effect on a censored surrogate outcome/event. All methods are described in detail in Parast, et al (2020) "Assessing the Value of a Censored Surrogate Outcome" <doi:10.1007/s10985-019-09473-1> and Wang et al (2025) "Model-free Approach to Evaluate a Censored Intermediate Outcome as a Surrogate for Overall Survival" <doi:10.1002/sim.70268>. Install

install.packages("SurrogateOutcome")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

# one-time r2u setup for Ubuntu (noble)

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/eddelbuettel/r2u/master/inst/scripts/add_cranapt_noble.sh | sudo bash

# then install

sudo apt install r-cran-surrogateoutcome

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). Run the setup once per machine.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf copr enable iucar/cran

sudo dnf install R-CRAN-SurrogateOutcome

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

sudo zypper install R-SurrogateOutcome

RPMs auto-built from CRAN on openSUSE OBS.
