Import data from the 'STATcube' REST API or from the open data portal of Statistics Austria. This package includes a client for API requests as well as parsing utilities for data which originates from 'STATcube'. Documentation about 'STATcubeR' is provided by several vignettes included in the package as well as on the public 'pkgdown' page at https://statistikat.github.io/STATcubeR/.

Examples are skipped when the OGD server or the 'STATcube' REST API is not reachable or serves an intermediate page (e.g. during maintenance work) instead of failing with an error (CRAN check).
Network functions (od_table(), od_list(), od_revisions(), od_catalogue(), sc_table(), sc_table_custom(), sc_table_saved(), sc_table_saved_list(), sc_schema(), sc_info(), sc_rate_limit_*()) inform via a message and return invisible(NULL) when the server is not available, instead of failing with a cryptic parse error. The target server (ext/red/prod) is derived from the requested dataset and reported in the message.
od_cache_update() and sc_check_response() detect html responses (e.g. maintenance pages or firewall rejections) and report an informative error.

New (internal) availability checks od_server_reachable() and sc_server_reachable(), cached per R session. sc_server_reachable() validates the server argument via match.arg() and checks every server (ext/red/prod/test) instead of assuming internal servers are reachable.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.
