Computes scores of outlyingness for data sets consisting of nominal variables and includes various evaluation metrics for assessing performance of outlier identification algorithms producing scores of outlyingness. The scores of nominal outlyingness are computed based on the framework of Costa and Papatsouma (2025) doi:10.48550/arXiv.2408.07463.

Install

install.packages("SONO", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-SONO

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
