Creates a header only package to link to the 'CGAL' (Computational Geometry Algorithms Library) header files in 'Rcpp'. There are a variety of potential uses for the software such as Hilbert sorting, K-D Tree nearest neighbors, and convex hull algorithms. For more information about how to use the header files, see the 'CGAL' documentation at https://www.cgal.org. Currently downloads version 6.2.1 of the 'CGAL' header files.

cgal_version() soft-deprecated in favor of cgal_header_info()
Added cgal_bundled_version() to return the version number of

the bundled header files

Found a bunch of other CRAN banned functions (e.g., assert, rand) and changed patch functions to catch and change them
using std::cerr; (and cout/clog) in CGAL headers now become aliases to R's streams, so unqualified cerr << ... (e.g., in Min_sphere_of_spheres_d) compiles again (#29)
Patched the Garland-Heckbert simplification policies to zero-initialize their cost matrices, removing an "is used uninitialized" warning that R CMD check reports in downstream packages (CGAL/cgal#9667; thanks @MichaelChirico, #28)
Patched repair_polygon_soup()'s canonical-polygon copy to avoid GCC -Wstringop-overflow/-Warray-bounds false positives; GCC 13 reports the former as a significant R CMD check warning in downstream packages (CGAL/cgal#9669; #28)

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled. We list this channel from recorded r2u download activity rather than from a live index of the repository, so treat it as last known rather than guaranteed.
