Functions to design and simulate optimal two-stage randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with ordered categorical outcomes, supporting rank-based tests and group-sequential decision rules. Methods build on classical and modern rank tests and two-stage/Group-Sequential designs, e.g., Park (2025) <doi: 10.1371/journal.pone.0318211>. Please see the package reference manual and vignettes for details.

Install

install.packages("OptOTrials", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-OptOTrials

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
