We provide extensions to the classical dataset "Example 4: Death by the kick of a horse in the Prussian Army" first used by Ladislaus von Bortkeiwicz in his treatise on the Poisson distribution "Das Gesetz der kleinen Zahlen", DOI:10.1017/S0370164600019453. As well as an extended time series for the horse-kick death data, we also provide, in parallel, deaths by falling from a horse and by drowning.

Install

install.packages("Horsekicks", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-Horsekicks

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
