Discrete event simulation (DES) involves modeling of systems having discrete, i.e. abrupt, state changes. For instance, when a job arrives to a queue, the queue length abruptly increases by 1. This package is an R implementation of the event-oriented approach to DES; see the tutorial in Matloff (2008) http://heather.cs.ucdavis.edu/~matloff/156/PLN/DESimIntro.pdf.

Install

install.packages("DES", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-DES

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
