An interface to the 'Valhalla' routing engine’s application programming interfaces (APIs) for turn-by-turn routing, isochrones, and origin-destination analyses. Also includes several user-friendly functions for plotting outputs, and strives to follow "tidy" design principles. Please note that this package requires access to a running instance of 'Valhalla', which is open source and can be downloaded from <https://github.com/valhalla/valhalla>.

Install

install.packages("valhallr")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

pak::pak("chris31415926535/valhallr")

Development version from chris31415926535/valhallr. Requires the pak package.

Release

# one-time r2u setup for Ubuntu (noble)

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/eddelbuettel/r2u/master/inst/scripts/add_cranapt_noble.sh | sudo bash

# then install

sudo apt install r-cran-valhallr

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). Run the setup once per machine.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf copr enable iucar/cran

sudo dnf install R-CRAN-valhallr

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.
