In the big data setting, working data sets are often distributed on multiple machines. However, classical statistical methods are often developed to solve the problems of single estimation or inference. We employ a novel parallel quasi-likelihood method in generalized linear models, to make the variances between different sub-estimators relatively similar. Estimates are obtained from projection subsets of data and later combined by suitably-chosen unknown weights. The philosophy of the package is described in Guo G. (2020) <doi:10.1007/s00180-020-00974-4>.

Install

install.packages("pql")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

# one-time r2u setup for Ubuntu (noble)

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/eddelbuettel/r2u/master/inst/scripts/add_cranapt_noble.sh | sudo bash

# then install

sudo apt install r-cran-pql

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). Run the setup once per machine.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf copr enable iucar/cran

sudo dnf install R-CRAN-pql

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

sudo zypper install R-pql

RPMs auto-built from CRAN on openSUSE OBS.
