Checks and health
CRAN runs every current package through
R CMD checkon a set of machines and publishes a result for each one. The health shown on a package page comes from these results alone.- Problems
- Notes alone never count against a package, but a warning, an error or a failure on any platform is a problem. Open CRAN deadlines are a fact of their own, shown as a clock after the mark, so the mark always says what the checks found.

Providing easy, portable access to NASA 'EarthData' products through the use of bearer tokens. Much of NASA's public data catalogs hosted and maintained by its 12 Distributed Active Archive Centers ('DAACs') are now made available on the Amazon Web Services 'S3' storage. However, accessing this data through the standard 'S3' API is restricted to only to compute resources running inside 'us-west-2' Data Center in Portland, Oregon, which allows NASA to avoid being charged data egress rates. This package provides public access to the data from any networked device by using the 'EarthData' login application programming interface (API), <https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/earthdata-login>, providing convenient authentication and access to cloud-hosted NASA 'EarthData' products. This makes access to a wide range of earth observation data from any location straight forward and compatible with R packages that are widely used with cloud native earth observation data (such as 'terra', 'sf', etc.)

edl_download(),edl_search(), andedl_netrc()no longer overwrite stored credentials. Previously, calling these without arguments rewrote the.netrcfile with the bundled default credentials, clobbering credentials a user had already set and causing 401 errors. Now the netrc is only (re)written when credentials are supplied explicitly or when no earthdata netrc exists yet (#27, #13).edl_extract_urls()(andedl_search(parse_results = TRUE)) now handle granules with multiple data assets, e.g. one GeoTIFF per band. Previously these errored with "Result must be length 1" (#15).collections_fetch()is deprecated in favor ofrstac::collections_fetch(), which now provides this functionality upstream (#17).
